(Strictly) Limited Edition Jaguar E-TYPE Coming
The Jaguar E-TYPE often tops lists of history’s most beautiful cars. If you’ve seen one, you immediately understand why. It’s a marvel of design, with not an ounce of excess sheet metal or a single stray line to be found. If you’ve missed your chance to own this classic Jaguar car, however, this may not be your chance.
Jaguar Classic — the division of the Jaguar brand that produced last year’s limited run of the Jaguar XKSS — is now turning its attention to a handful of carefully sourced Jaguar E-TYPE coupes from the car’s first generation. Their safety features will be upgraded, but they’ll otherwise stay true to production spec. The cars will be restored using OEM Jaguar parts, or replacements fabricated in-house to the company’s high standards. The lucky few who have a chance to buy one will pay $355,000 for the privilege.
Jaguar Brand Hits Sales Milestone
When the sales numbers from your Peabody, MA Jaguar dealership came in — along with those from our companion dealerships around the United States — there was a 132 percent increase over March, 2016. That’s the best month for the company since 2003, and it’s driven in large part by the brand new Jaguar F-PACE SUV and Jaguar XE sedan. We knew these were important cars. We didn’t account for the Jaguar F-PACE accounting for nearly half of all sales by itself!
Jaguar I-PACE Prototype Spotted
Last November, Ian Callum said of the Jaguar I-PACE, “This isn’t just a concept. It is a preview of a five-seat production car that will be on the road in 2018.” And so it was. A production-spec prototype was spotted in testing, and it looks very close to the concept that debuted in 2016. Some cosmetic features have been toned down slightly, but most of what we liked — the futuristic-looking curves and the cab-forward design included — is still there.
