What’s new in the world of Jaguar cars? Jaguar Peabody has the latest news for our Newton, MA and Nashua, NH customers.

New Jaguar InControl App
Cashless payments have been catching on in recent years. Even though many car manufacturers have shown concepts for proprietary apps, it took a partnership between the Jaguar brand and Shell to create one that people can actually use. Owners of select Jaguar vehicles (the 2018 models of the Jaguar XE, Jaguar XF and Jaguar F-Pace) can use a Shell app to pay at the pump without reaching for their wallets. Late in 2017, the feature will roll out to the rest of the lineup, as well as being available beyond the shores of the UK — including here at Jaguar Peabody. Integrations with other vendors are in the offing. Payment options will likewise expand from PayPal and Apple Pay to include Android Pay.

There’s a lot of potential here. Expense account management for fleet management could easily be leveraged through InControl, and we can also imagine paying for everything from takeout to parking and tolls without using cash or touching a credit card.

New for 2018
After the excitement of the 2017 model year, we’re not expecting new models from Jaguar in 2018. That’s not a bad thing. The Jaguar F-PACE and Jaguar XE have been runaway successes, and we could use a bit of breathing space. 2018 will see some new additions, however.

There will be a new base 25t trim coming to the 2018 Jaguar XE, Jaguar XF, and Jaguar F-Pace. It will use a new 2.0 liter 247 horsepower four-cylinder version of the modular Ingenium engine. The Jaguar XE will get a new XE S trim (details forthcoming), while the Jaguar XF and Jaguar F-PACE get a top-level Portfolio trim. Each of the three will also have new active safety features.

It’s been a great year for the Newton, MA customers served by Jaguar Peabody, and at this rate, 2018 will be even better. To find out more or to schedule a test drive, visit us at 247 Newbury St. in Peabody, MA today!
