Crossovers are the new family sedans. They’re popular, and they’re everywhere. But there’s nothing like the Jaguar F-PACE. Yet. Given that crossover’s success, two new Jaguar SUVs are in the offing, and they’ll be available to the Nashua, NH and Peabody, MA drivers served by Jaguar Peabody before you know it. Here’s what we know so far.

Jaguar I-PACE
After nearly a year’s worth of rumors, the first electric Jaguar SUV — the Jaguar I-PACE — appeared at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. It makes its European debut this month at the Geneva Motor Show with a new coat of Photon Red paint. We’ve learned more about the SUV’s construction in the time since. It shares its aluminum-intensive architecture and its suspension with the Jaguar F-PACE, while its electric powertrain gives it more than 200 miles on a single charge. Ninety minutes on an AC outlet will get the vehicle to 80% of battery capacity. DC and inductive charging are in the works.

Jaguar E-PACE
The Jaguar E-PACE name was trademarked a while back, and many people thought the “E” would designate an electric SUV that turned out to be the I-PACE. Now, Yahoo News reports that a diesel-powered Jaguar E-PACE prototype that looks like the smaller brother of the Jaguar F-PACE is in testing (under camouflage) in northern France. It’s possible we’ll see this SUV, sans disguise, at an auto show late in 2017.

Car companies often have two choices: get there first, or get it right. With the 2017 Jaguar F-PACE, the automaker chose the latter approach and was rewarded handsomely. We’re glad that they’re doing the same with the rest of their SUV lineup. Visit Jaguar Peabody today to test drive the Jaguar F-PACE, learn more about the Jaguar I-PACE, or to see the rest of the 2017 Jaguar lineup. We’re located at 247 Newubury St. in Peabody.
