When the Jaguar F-TYPE R-Dynamic appeared last year, it surprised nobody. After all, you’d expect the company’s flagship sports car to have its own high(er)-performance variant. But an SUV? The standard 2019 Jaguar E-PACE comes with a 246 horsepower 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. R-Dynamic models, on the other hand, keep the same displacement and number of cylinders, but tack on an additional 50 horsepower and pair the engine to a nine-speed transmission. LED headlights and daytime running lights are standard.
This new Jaguar SUV comes in three trim levels, the 2019 Jaguar E-PACE R-Dynamic S, SE, and HSE. For all their similarities, they have some important differences. Wheel sizes vary from one model to the next, with the wheel sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches. The S and SE variants get grained leather seats with varying degrees of adjustability, while the HSE receives perforated leather seats.
Touch Pro and Connect Pro infotainment, plus InControl apps, are also standard, but the SE adds a Meridian sound system, and the HSE adds 4G Wi-Fi Hotspots, Smart Settings, Online Media and Navigation Pro alongside its own driver display. The HSE also has the most advanced safety features of the lot; the usual driver assistance systems and the Traffic Sign Recognition with Adaptive Speed Limiter available on lower trims are complemented by a park package with parking assist features, as well as a Drive Package with blind spot assist, adaptive cruise control, and high-speed emergency braking.
